Removing inner arch liner

Hi just wondered if there was any tips for removing the o/s front liner or is it just the long way to do it removing the wheel (looking for any cables stored behind it ) ?
Thanks

I think it's easier with the wheel out. There is a wire for the wheel sensor.

That needs to be unplugged.

  1. Remove underbelly panel.
  2. Remove road wheel.
  3. In engine compartment release pad wear and ABS sensor connectors (black & blue) from clips on wheel arch liner.
  4. Under arch, release sensor cables from clips and detach grommets to pull connectors through liner into wheelarch.
  5. Separate connectors by pulling the two halves straight apart.
  6. Remove 3 screws from mudflap at forward edge of sill.
  7. Remove 2 metal self-tapping screws securing liner to front bumper.
  8. Remove large diameter scrivit mounted vertically into subframe.
  9. Remove self-tapping Posi screw at leading edge of wheelarch & 10mm AF hexagon screw above it.
  10. Remove 6 scrivits (extracting screw completely) securing liner to inner wheelarch.
  11. Release and remove liner.

That is based upon the MGR RAVE method modified by me based on practical experience.

All as above Simons post.

Except---When I did mine I didn't remove the under belly panel.---:}

That meant jacking up the car to get at the panel and having it removed would, as far as I was concerned, not help at all.---

No cables anywhere behind the arch liner (The ABS sensor and break wear sensor wires pass through the liner)

Hello again Rob,

OK, so what you really want to know is where is the loom to the screen/headlamp washer reservoir? So what is the fault and what equipment is affected?

Hi Robert.
You will need to remove the front bumper, then you will find the wiring to the power wash on top the washer bottle, that is if your car as them few pics below.

Thanks everyone I was retrofitting the power wash and found out no connector at the washer bottle and then read that it might be bundled up in the wing, so was hoping to pop the inner wing and just find it sitting there looking at me , and if not then it looks like the relays method then
Thanks

That pic of Arctics seems to show a connector and the clips on the reservoir for the pump. Looks like you would have to cut a hole into the reservoir though.
