Wheel Bearing?
 

Posted this a few weeks ago but a new problem has arisen, when cruising left there is a loud whine/rumble, can feel it through ones feet on the floor
Group diagnosed it as a bearing on the front o/s wheel

Past couple of days, if pulling out on a junction -for example- turning hard left, the wheel has fought back, as if the brake was jamming on, not a lock up, but a distinct grinding noise and force against moving forward on the o/s front wheel

Does this still sound like the bearing or something else to worry about?

Jack it up and check it out. If at all possible to do it safely, run it with the wheels off the ground. Also check brakes and calipers anyway.

You do not want a front wheel seizing on you on the motor-way. :eek:

That's my biggest worry
Had a look and gave the wheel a spin and seems to be free, can't feel any grinding but then it only makes noise when cruising left at speed
Would a wheel bearing on the way out cause that sporadic grinding and pushback when pulling away to the left?
There is some slight movement in the wheel left to right but not up/down
It could just be the steering moving so that's not conclusive there either
brakes are free enough too

That sounds like a (very!) faulty CV joint - these can 'lock up' when properly disintegrating.
I'd be less inclined to think it was a wheel bearing - that's not a normal mode of failure for them.

Put the front of the car up on blocks and ran the engine in gear, and the o/sis definitely having a good rumble, n/s isnt. The ABS light came on for a bit today after that -went out now- I do wonder if the/a knackered bearing is messing around with the ABS and caused it to brake on that wheel

Any way to check the CV joint? there doesnt seem to be any play in it and the gaiter is in good condition

ABS malfunction could make a horrible grinding noise, you should be able to feel it through the pedal in any case . It would not always bring the light on as the system is doing what it thinks it should.

Test the drive-shafts by slow tight-full lock- figure of eights in an empty parking lot.
