Retro fitting headlamp washers

Is it possible to retro fit headlamp washers to a car that's not got them without the wiring already in place?

I've bought second hand what is needed but it came with no wiring and the mechanic who was going to fit it said there was no wiring for it when he had removed the bumper.

Is it likely to be the sort of thing that could be taken from a another car that has one already (I'm thinking of a Trader on the forum here) and is it a relatively straight forward job to do (obviously holes are going to have to be drilled in the bumper for the washer jets)? Help and advice gratefully needed!

Its for my standard 1.8 Connoisseur, which I am gradually trying to upgrade to the same spec as my other Se's.

Hi Jim, once you sort out the wiring will need a battery back up sounder (BBUS) fitted and then a T4 session to enable the washers to work.

You ideally need the original loom as the washers only work with the headlights on and after 5 (I think ) presses of the windscreen washers to activate them so making a loom would be complex to make them work in the correct way

When I fitted mine to my 1999 Connie with the looms fitted already, I still needed a T4 session (thanks to all at Nano meets).

You should find position marks on the underside of the bumper, just a strong Stanley knife did the trick.

Hope to see you at a Nano meet soon Rob.

Any idea where and how I can get hold of an original loom for this?
