Fitted a new camshaft sensor. My old one had the cable directly wired into the camshaft sensor. The replacement made in Egypt part is nowhere near as good as the original BMW Rover part.

Fitted my new quad projectors with Angel eye drls which I had collected from Rick yesterday :D
I ran the wiring along the fog light/indicator wiring loom so that it was out of the way, I was also able to fit the led sidelights from my reflectors. I'm looking forward to trying them out now!

Fitted the thermostat housing to the back of the water pump on the 1800 ‘classic’ in the rain. Bled it and then road tested and allowed the fan to cut in, will check the level in the morning before I go to work.....

Cylinder head off last night. Confirmed HGF. :(
Head is away having a minimal skim today, to bring it back to flat.

Liners on 2&3 are flush, so looks like it will be the original style gasket going on...

Replaced both rear brake discs and pads after having a few days of scraping noises that i assumed were worn pads. Turned out to be the retaining pin that holds the handbrake shoes to the backplate had broken om one side and the brake shoe was fouling the inside of the disc. all fixed (with a spare bolt/nut) and now no more scraping or overheating wheel!! :)

Sorted airbag warning light that came on this morning.
First time that I have looked under the seats since buying the car last October, to find that 3 of the 4 connectors have been cut off and the wires soldered together.
Sprayed the remaining connector with WD40, no luck warning light still on.
So removed the insulation tape on the 3 soldered joints to find all of them very poorly soldered. So cut, stripped, and resoldered them.
Bingo airbag warning light now off. :}

I did my best to destroy the kitchen while Deb was at work 🤣👍

Much drilling and refitting to make some decent door cards from some genuine blue ones.

They look very impressive Andy. :bowdown:
I spent an hour polishing those expensive ;) xenons that I bought a couple of weeks ago.

Following a bit of a disaster with my first attempt for a mold (I snapped it in half!) I've decided to experiment with silicone molds and I must say I much prefer it, this was a test run and I've learned a lot from it although the result isn't half bad, it allows me to make a quick rough copy than I can machine to then make an even better mold rather than working with the original part all the time.
