75 Master Cylinder

The clutch is beginning to slip, so I asked my usual friendly local people to give me a price to replace it. I told them to replace the slave cylinder while they were at it (as I believe it's inside the bell housing), but when they spoke to their supplier he said that the kit comes with a master cylinder which they said needed to be changed at the same time. I've changed slave cylinders on other cars and have never routinely changed the master at the same time. Is there something I'm missing here? Thanks.

Not normally required, it helps if you can bleed the master cylinder through with fresh fluid before the old clutch is taken out, this will ensure no nasty bits or old fluid will enter the new slave cylinder.

Thanks - I thought it was a bit odd. Yes, I was going to get them to do a full bleed before fitting the slave.
