HK tourer sub - how well does it work?

It’s no rival of a 10” sub, but it is only any good in a car with the full HK.

Following from this, i am currently removing a Highline H/K system from a donor Tourer car given to me. i have removed all the speakers but the Sub sat in what looks like a heavy, shaped metal box, that I just cant seem to move. is this necessary to improve bass sound? (i also have the HK amp to remove too).
