Lowered ZT-T Good Or Bad idea

I saw this for sale on Gumtree.

I've never seen a ZT or ZT-T with suspension height as low as this.

Someone appears to have gone to great expense to achieve this, what is the benefit and does it represent good value at £1500?

Depends on how the coilovers have been fitted, I am not a fan of the 'redrill the strut top' method as it just doesnt look right to me.

Also, they are low cars in standard form, many members on here have sold theirs to buy something with easier access.

(I wouldnt mind the banded steels though as they look better than the alloys in my opinion)

Will certainly improve the handing when cornering but as Andy said the ZT is already quite low from the factory. It depend if you are prepared to sacrafice comfort for responsiveness.

No good for where I live , the speed bumps would do some damage to it :icon_cry:

I am not a fan of this type of modification, it makes the car look cheap, and sends out all the wrong messages, one might expect to see this on a car not usually associated with class, elegance and sophistication, e.g a Ford, or a BMW etc, not on a Rover, please!, it looks hidious.

According to the mot history it has donea little over 2,000 miles since the mot in 2015.

I would think it gives a stiff ride, a bit too low for my liking

Good luck loading that up for a family holiday.

Never liked lowered cars after my daughter bought a slammed MX5. Terrible to work on as you couldn't get a trolley jack underneath it, and when driving it you had to watch out for speed bumps or any other undulations.....
She loved it mind, so maybe I just got too old! :getmecoat:

To me the car in the OP does not look right.

Lowering a car changes its proportions and never really works. It's better to have a body kit on a standard height car.

My 75 is lowered 30mm on Eibach progressive springs. This achieved the two things I was keen to 'transform'.Namely, reducing that humongous gap in the wheel arch and eliminating body roll when cornering.I have to say I am more than happy with the result. There is no loss of comfort as the springs only progressively stiffen up when going round a corner.
