Clutch Master

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had the clutch master cylinder push rod snap off at the pedal?(2004 CDTi tourer.)

Yes this has happened a few times where the nylon loop cracks and breaks away.

Hi trikey, how difficult is it to change the master cylinder?

Different people will give you a different story. You are working in a confined space and with the fixing bolts, blind.
I found the confined space and working blind frustrating but it is not beyond the scope of a reasonable DIY'er

If you remove the clutch pedal be careful not to lose the small plastic insert for the return spring

Remove the bolts holding the cylinder on, remove the split pin then knock out the roll pin and leave the fluid line in place.

You can then attack the pedal where the loop joins on, takes around an hour if your handy with the spanners and a contortionist!
