my poor finger

my poor left middle finger. About 3 years ago I cut my left middle finger badly enough to require a skin graft and physiotherapy. A few days ago I trapped it between a club hammer and my vice taking a piece of skin off just below the nail. Today I caught the same damn finger between the handle of a fork and a piece of 2 x 2 as I was driving the fork down, cutting the skin graft. The end and middle of my finger now hurt and we are trying to find something to cover the finger under a glove so I can work in the garden.

I'm getting fed up with this

When I do things like that, I wrap a small dressing around the wound and then I cut a finger off a marigold glove to pull over the finger. I know what you mean about it keep getting hurt.

That'll restrict your ability to show disdain.

I tried that but I thought I'd start at the top and work down...It didn't work out too well and was very painful.

The truth is that I was welding a new cab panel on to a class 37 loco, one of the clamps let go and it spun down like a blade, I wasn't quite quick enough to get totally clear or I'd have lost much more. The re-attach job went well and today there's hardly a mark. The very same finger I gashed on a broken sink basin when I was having eye problems, it went bad but recovered. I understand where Mac is with his injuries, we take fingers too much for granted.

I've done that to the one between my middle finger and thumb, did it 2 or 3 years ago. Still tingles to the touch, more sensitive to being hit and is damn inconvenient sometimes as that finger is used. When my arm is stretched that finger and thumb were used to undo things, where the other hand is inappropriate to use.

The best thing about fingers is, that they are so close at hand.;)

See above: a reusable finger stall in leather or plastic could help, cheap as chips :}
