Sharkfin aerial
Hi does anyone know if the tourer aerial should have both wires connected as I removed it to reseal and can only find the blue lead and have forgotten wether it should also have a lead connected to the purple connector.

Does nobody know?:eek:

I removed the rear of the headlining on my V8 ZTT and it also has just one wire connected so seems normal I wonder what the second connector is for maybe the radio on on an E46 bmw?

The connectors on the shark fin are Fakra standard connectors. If the look at them they have different profiles so that that can’t be accidental crossed. The blue one is for the go’s signal and the burgundy one is for a mobile phone. The phone 1 is not used on our cars, rover went a different way.

I’ve been doing a load of research on this to try and get my cars system back up and running. My shark fin had failed and not fully enamoured of putting a used one in. Found that there are loads of after market antennas out there with the Fakra connectors on or the SMB connector which is on the back of the sat nav drive.

hello
the shark fin is available from rimmers david |
They were out of stock when I checked a couple of days ago so have got a pre loved :D one coming from eBay my original was ok until I resealed it with some cp1 I removed it with some difficulty scraped off the sealer refitted and it worked ok but in trying to unseal it I managed to shear the cover from the housing and although could be stuck together thought it best to replace.

I have a shark fin if you need one. It's prepped with grey primer, ready for body colour spray. I never got round to fitting it to my tourer before I sold it.
Drop me a PM if you're interested :-) Edit: just realised you have one on the way already :duh: |
Sharkfin arrived today and all fitted and working!:}
