Sensor assembly-front height - RBW000010
I can't believe my lovely Rover 75 tourer might be facing its last MOT because I cant seem to locate a failed part ! The MOT'er advised the Xenon light adjusting module - part ref above has failed - broken. As the headlight cannot self level its a fail. There are other bits that I will bear the cost of as the car is a lovely drive still. However anyone know where I might get one of the above parts. Its item 11 on the following page

Hi there.
I'm pretty sure you can cross reference the BMW E46 part number that is printed on your old part. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...09#37146784696 Something like this might be worth checking. :} https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-BMW-E...9eT:rk:22:pf:0 |
Just remove it and fit standard headlights if you are struggling.
No need to feel it’s the last mot. |
I should have one available as I have just pulled a rear one from a car. Will check shortly

Thanks a few more details

Many thanks for your very helpful replies. I took the front offside wheel off today to see if it was a BMW part and it is so that is good as there seems to be quite a few available. I think the front is different from the back? Pic of the mess that is mine attached. It seems the unit has cracked on the top bolt. What I can’t fathom is where the metal bracket is supposed to connect to that is at the end of the arm ? In my ignorance I thought there should be one on the near side, wrong as it seems the headlights are adjusted but one on the front and one on the back drivers side. However I was a bit alarmed to find two el3ctical connections swinging loose on the near side. I’ll post a pic of those in another reply as I only seem to be able to put one attachment in a reply ?

Hopefully this pic shows the metal tab that is on the end of the arm.... I could not see where it should be attached other pic is the two electrical connectors flying loose on the near side ? BTW everything else seems to work electrically so fully confused as to where these two cable connections are for.

Thanks
Hi Ron, thanks for the pic. It makes sense now mine has rusted in half !! I can only assume previous MOT testers have missed this .... I have found and ordered a second hand level sensor ... need to either source or fabricate a clamp ....having had the wheel off today i think at least this is one thing I may be able to sort.

By way of an update and feedback for those looking for similar info. I have a nice new 12 month MOT ticket on my lovely car now. The Xenon level adjuster was indeed a BMW part so I was able to order one off a breaker from ebay for £14 posted. Only issue was the clip that connects the arm of the sensor to the cars suspension - see Ron's first pic. Mine had rusted off the bottom bit so I drilled a hole and cable tied it - still a pass even if it is a bit of a lash up but the clip was not available.
Two new springs from Rimmers who were conveniently doing a November discount and labour for taking the tank out to replace two corroded brake lines and done. Need to get the hand brake sorted otherwise she's good for another year ! No dash warning lights (my previous VW lit up like a Christmas tree as did the Alfa !!) Once agin many thanks for the responses and especially Rons Pics |
I got the same problem as you.
