Help,lost windows apps

It would seem i can't get any windows apps or drivers?I have no sound,& when i try & play movies etc,it just freezes. Also, when i log on to microsoft downloads,i can download, but not install? windows installer not present,so when i try & download it,it doesn't let me.On startup,i get "multi media card reader, resource not enough" I've tried sfc/scannow, & chkdsk to no avail & it won't let me do a system restore, saying it won't protect my computer & to restart.Done all that & still the same. Also, firewall is off, along with microsoft essentials, but i can't turn anything on? Does anyone have any suggestions? Running XP with Kaspersky if that helps?

Have you tried control panel... System.... Device manager and then rolling back the drivers of what ever app it is that is not working correctly...

I think you need to describe the problem a little better than "lost windows apps" if you want some proper help

Have you got anti malware? it sorts out non virus stuff like redirects, and spy items...

If you can get online, give the link a go and click on "freescan". after the scan save the info, it gives the addy of any virus it finds, then you can go in and delete the virus and malware files.. ;)

I'll try,i cannot use any windows drivers or apps, internet's no prob with Firefox & Chrome, ie won't load, but from microsoft homepage,i can't install anything,as it says windows installer not present,so when i try to download it,it won't because it doesn't exist on my computer apparently? Media plays without sound & very jerky graphics.I tunes won't play due to sound issues. It's hard to explain, but it looks like windows system has disappeared from my computer?
