China MG seem to gaining some traction

On my walk today noticed a new MG Dealership -Certainly not here 2 weeks ago -was a Minstergate Daewoo i think. Up till now the only MG dealership in these parts was an original MGR dealer who went with SAIC in 2005. Sign they are gaining some traction in the market.:shrug:

Definitely gaining a lot of traction.
I see a lot of MG ZS (SUV) and MG 3 and even saw one of the new MG 5 electric cars the other day.

They look like good value for the money and owners I have spoken to are pleased with them.

I quite like the look of the MG HS, but quite expensive.

Personally I welcome the advance of the MG brand across the UK, they give people good value for money motoring with 7 year warranties which is excellent for the consumer.

Thumbs up for anything to take market share away form the Germans with their recycled mundane boxes and illusion of prestige build quality.
I can barely tell the difference between comparable models of VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda these days.

Theres certainly more around here than a couple of years back, I think there's 1 in Stamford, Peterborough, and Milton Keynes, though the 1 in Leicester closed a year or so back.

Last summer my wife got a 2018 ZS 1.5 petrol, it had around 9,000 miles on the clock, was immaculate inside and out, and only paid £10,500 for it, its got the faux-leather and built in satnav etc. It drives much nicer than the Qashqai it replaced, and while not especially economical it's no worse than the Qashqai. The only things that she dislikes about it are the digital fuel gauge, it goes down by the 1/8th of a tank, and the lack of outside air temperature display.

I quite like the look of the HS, and towards the back half of last year when I was spending endless amounts on the ZT, I was very tempted to go for one. However, each time the ZT was fixed I'd drive a few miles and decide that I'd keep it.
If the 'e-Motion' comes out looking anything like its supposed to, and for anything like the speculated price, I'll be looking to get 1 for everyday use

I'd be more inclined to get one if they just put a Chinese name on it and stop trying to pretend that it's a real MG !

lol, each to their own.:}

Sadly there are still some who say that the only real MGs were built in Abingdon and that the zed cars are really only re badged Rovers.:shrug:

I remember going on an MGCC run in my TF and being told that they preferred proper MGs not the Longbridge rubbish - times change lol
(It was a great run by the way, didnt have to open the bonnet once unlike the chap in his proper MG:D:D)
