Does it need programming?

1 Attachment(s)
My Rover 75 2.5 Contempoary has a small box to the left under the steering wheel towards the footwell. It is marked:YWC104130
On checking for a replacement it seems it is a part of the Control unit-microwave burglar alarm - I've ordered a new one (even though it is listed by Rimmers as a part for a Rover 600!) - the question is: Does it need programming prior to use? If so, is there anyone who can help with this? Please let me know and any associated costs. Help!

Yes the ews will need reprogramming, what is the issue with your original one?

As above what issues are you having?

That part number now relates to the transponder ring for a 600 not the part in your picture ;)

Over the years they've had various part numbers, the current replacement one is: YWC107200 ;)

I can transfer your original to a good used replacement it should be then just a case of plug and play.

Drop me a message with a contact number and will be happy to call you and answer any questions.

Happy to be contacted.
Thank you for your very helpful replies. Any help is appreciated.

The part number I've ordered is written on the unit. From the notes received it seems this may be incorrect. The new part is on its way way from Rimmer Bros - I'll then find out if it is indeed incorrect. If so I'll have to re-order.
The reason for needing a replacement is that the sunroof drain pipe has, over time, become disconnected and caused water to ingress the unit and corroded it. This causes the engine to be imobilised. Consequently I've ordered replacement drainage tubes as well as the part number shown.
All a bit of a muddle really - with the changes of part numbers!
