Fitting an under bonnet fuel pump
 

On a diesel, is there any advantage to fitting an under bonnet fuel pump? Neither on my MKII's have them.

Hi Ian.
No advantage at all and a lot of work even if you wanted to or could, you have the better in tank pumps which were fitted to the later cars, this did away with the UBFP.

Also get your self one of these for your other thread on injectors ;) while they are cheap.

I've given Arctic an extra one for you, I've gained so much info from his posts. ;)

You would have a disadvantage! The MK2 single pump setup runs at higher pressure than the earlier twin pump :)
