Hello everyone,


Thought I'd share a mod i Have done today.(i Know it's been done before lol)

If you want aux in on a standerd High-line system.......

First remove the Highline monitor and locate the small blue plug on the back, Remove said plug and take the Blue housing off and youll be left with a small black plug.

you find two yellow wires and two purple wires these are the tape outputs as follows

Pin1 : backlight illumination.
Pin2: GND
Pin3: Audio out left tape
Pin4: Audio out left gnd tape

Pin6: i-bus
Pin7: 12V direct

Pin9: Audio out Right tape
Pin10: Audio out Right gnd tape

Pin11: +12v ignition
Pin12 : LCD illumination.

if you cut these wires and join the negatives up you can connect any cut open headphone cable

you'll need a blank tape in the headunit for this to work

Excellent info. i have used the dedicated aux in from the tuner in the wheel well but it's mono only :)

but I cant get my tired brain around what needs cutting and connecting to what??????...... will be off down to maplin tho to get a 3.5mm socket regardless so i can plug the zen in eventually.

Sounds like a good solution, I' make a few pics when I get round to fit mine. I'm planning to use this as a way to connect in with a cheap Bluetooth hands free and streaming module.

I have just fitted an aux in to my high line today. I used the CD changer, again as the tape deck the wires are pink/black for the left channel, yellow/black for the right channel. The positive wires are closest to the edge of the connector and the grounds the next two along.
I have used a 3.5mm female jack to enable anything to be plugged in, including the CD changer if required. So long as a CD is in the changer it will play.

This solution keeps the system as usable and hidden as possible. I've simply run a cable from the glove box to just above the gear stick. This was a good way to save ££'s on the aftermarket adapters which does the same thing without giving the option of the CD changer.

Hi Aurora. Where are those two pairs of wires you describe (on which plug)? So to listen the your aux you select the CD as source I suppose, but then also you will hear the CD disc playing too won't you?

no, you won't hear the cd as you have connected your players audio in place of the cd changers audio. To hear the changer you need to plug it back in (re-connect if you didn't fit plugs) instead. The changer will be playing away oblivious to the fact that you can't hear it.
