Classic Insurance for your 75 / ZT in Northern Ireland

If like me you have more than one Rover 75 or MG ZT, or prehaps want to have more than one, then now you have the option to insure your second car as a classic.

http://www.peterbestinsurance.co.uk/

Peter Best insurance services will cover ANY 75 or zt on their classic policy in NI (but not ROI sadly), providing the car is a second car and not your primary. You can choose between 1500, 3000 or 5000 miles per year including modifications.

Doesnt matter if your car is a 1998 V6 Rover 75 launch model or one of the final 2008 reg'd diesel MG ZT's. This is an excellent solution until they qualify by all insurance companies at 10 / 15 years old company specific.

I myself have my ZT with them, and I know several other local owners now using them.

Sadly they do not yet cover NI for everyday insurance, but im hoping to negotiate with them regarding that as they do multipolicy discounts and such which can only help to benefit more.

Something which I hope will benefit all local owners!

Hiya colin have they just started to cover the 75, because when I enquired not so long ago, I was told the mg is classed as a classic from 5years old, but the rover had to be 20years old before they would class it as a classic, even though its basically the same car

Richard Tague their Customer Services & Events Manager told me they will cover them, as the ZT is essentially the same car as the 75 and because they where MG ROVER not just ROVER, they qualify the 75 under their MG policy.

Its a technicality BUT it will cover you in their eyes.

Hi Colin, having just got hold of a ZT-T I'm hoping to have this as my main car but also have periodic use of the ZT. Peter Best Insurance have said they can do this but I have to be a memmber of the MG Car Club (MGCC). Have you (or anyone else using Peter Best Insurance) had to do this?

Also what sort of premiums were you or being quoted for the classic insurance and for what limited miles?

Thx

Paul

Hello right, sorry for the slow reply.

My policy with them was done over the phone if you mention you are a member the MGZT & Rover75 owners club was all that was required by myself.

Yeah no one will touch a new policy classic here under 20nyears now including autoline etc.

If your car was already on a classic they will reknew it going forward.

Tbh its a pain as it was great for me buying and selling 75s
