More help required No Cd player??
Hi having just returned to the Forum I'm being forced to post a few questions for which I apologise, but with this one, if I cant find an answer my missus will do her nut!!
My "new" buy a 2003 2.0 CDTI tourer,is great in some respects but in other areas, compared to past models I've owned, seems to be lacking. In this case it appears it doesn't have a CD player!!! It is fitted with Symphony radio, with buttons clearly marked CD/Tape.....the tape player is in position but no CD player,,,,can I fit a glove box cassette version, and if so how do I connect to back of radio...is It a dockyard job? Is there a socket in place to accept a CD input plug on the back of the radio, is the back of the radio readily accessible? Thanks again..:o |

The cd changer isn't in a side cubby in the boot is it? Does anything change on the display when you press the cd button? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As I understand it ,the symphony radio is only held in with a piece of trim and four screws, I have the removal tools for the radio ,just hope it has the fittings for a CD player!!! Haven't told the wife yet...Chicken! |
Hello Derek if you have not already purchased the cd player from e-bay i have one fitted in my tourer that i no longer use and you can have it if you wish free of charge.

When you remove the Symphony, see if there are cables in a blue mini ISO connector (along with a green and yellow one) plugged in the back. That is the connector for the CD changer, if it is there, the other end must be somewhere..... usually under the glove box.

However on looking all over my glove box I can not find any cables or access holes to rear of radio unit, so on removal of old, do I just drill a hole through the glove box bulkhead etc to attach cables to compatible unit? |
