Airbag deployment in a ZT

Good evening: has anyone any idea please as to what speed a ZT airbag will deploy at?

Regards
Steve

It's not speed the airbag deploys, it's the sudden stop:eek::D

Acceleration, which is a function of speed with time, to be accurate.

And for any pedants out there, yes, you have acceleration in negative figures.

To be pedantic is it not deacceleration that triggers the airbag? Acceleration will not trigger it.

I thought its electric impulse that deploy airbags:D

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as threads get ‘lost’ very quickly in the General Forum.;)

With the ignition on they can deploy even if you are stationary when hit.

Nearly but not quite, it's deceleration (the latin root is celero, which gives us celerate )

'negative acceleration' is grammatically an oxymoron :duh: (so not correct to say)....

confusion might arise because acceleration could be described mathematically as

1 ft/s/s (one foot per second per second)

and deceleration as

-1 foot/s/s (minus one foot per second per second) - looks like 'negative acceleration' does it not?

n.b - I know the foot isn't the official ISO unit of distance - but I thought that the majority here would understand imperial measurements better than metric...:getmecoat:

With the age of our car`s it would be interesting to see how many of our airbags failed to deploy...
....Anyone fancy a MG/75 stock car event ? :D:D:eek:
Ken.

If someone crashes into the side of the car, is that acceleration or deceleration? I would say acceleration. And I'm sure the airbags would go off...
