Love the Hubnut channel :)

Have owned both, and still have the SD1, although it's poor build quality almost makes me wish I had kept the 800! BUT you cannot beat that V8 growl.

I even heard Itchy Boots give him a mention in her last vlog, that'll put a spring in his step.
I'm especially impressed by his Invacar road trips :}

I was surprised to hear the SD1 only has a three speed box,and 'runs out of legs'.I love the cars design and it still looks fresh today,but I can't understand the choice of gearbox:shrug:

For me it would be the 800, as hub nut said might be a generation thing as I was a 80's child my self.

First time I've ever watched a HubNut video and now I'm addicted.
Have spent far too much of the last two days watching his videos!

Thanks for sharing :D

I'm a 90's child so I suppose I should prefer the 800 but it's got to be the SD1 for me on looks and engine sound alone, I'd never tire of that growl.

The style of the SD1 is so much better than the 800, inside and out. ;)

If you mean one with just three ratios Mick, it's because the torque of the V8 is such that three are all that is necessary. :D Less is more.

Three can be plenty!

Long ago, I remember overtaking a BMW 635 Csi on the M4 at around 125 mph in my Colt Galant turbo, and feeling great...only to think the engine had stopped as some big Mercedes screamed past me in the outer lane, so fast I could do nothing but stare in awe at its rapidly disappearing rear bumper...

So my passenger said pull off here John and we'll visit the big Mercedes dealer just off the motorway, near Swindon. Perusing the cars in the showroom, we spied the one that left us for dead - and sure enough, it was an automatic with just three gears!
