Drop Rick Sta a pm. I believe he had a stainless dual exhaust on one of his.Or give MJI Exhaust in Walsall a call. Have a look at their website

Tony Banks in Leeds, he will make any exhaust to whatever style you want.

Duel Exhaust?
Two pipes out of the box or one pipe each side of the car?

I seem to recall that Rick's car has 2 tail pipes on each side of the car.

I've yet to find a stainless exhaust that I like the sound of, but each to his own, it will in all likelihood be better than some of the rubbish mild steel systems out there.

For a custom Longlife system, budget for around £400 for a nicely made one.

This is a custom stainless system from the manifold downpipe back. Was done by MIJ Exhausts in Walsall, done a fantastic job of it.

My dad's 75 diesel has just a stainless back box installed by Longlife Watford. Went for the quietest option. If standing behind the car it is a little louder than it was originally, but from inside the car there's no difference in sound.

I had a Powerflow system fitted in December, because I couldn't get to Tony Banks in Leeds.

£240 Backbox only or £400 for a full cat back system.

Last month my brother had a full cat back system fitted by Tony Banks to his 75 CDTi, lovely job, but I can't remember how much he paid.

Both systems were specified to be as quiet as possible, neither system is as quiet as a standard Rover system, but neither are they intrusive. Listening to my wife boot the ZT-T out of our street, it has a nice restrained burble to it, but is still perfectly quiet at 70mph on the motorway.

Thanks for the replies everyone, looking for a system as close to standard as possible.I have heard quite a few people have bought after market systems like klarius and they do not last very long, mine is the original and its lasted 14 years, which is why i was looking at getting stainless steel, unless anybody knows of anyone who has a new original Rover one for sale.

@ Rick-sta. Do you know how much Longlife Watford charged for your dads back box? It looks very nice. I'm in need of one after 17 years, but finding it difficult to justify to myself paying maybe half the cars value for just a back box.
