Bits of old foam from blowers
So the other day I switched the air to the windscreen and it blasted a load of bits of old crumbling foam out... er, what's happening?

That’s the foam that goes around the edge of the vent to seal it in the heater ducting.
Nothing to panic about. |
Bizarrely both of mine started doing that this week, also the headlining dropped on the 75 tourer, above the front seats and just behind the windscreen on the drivers side, so it hangs down like a skirt's hem and flaps about obscuring the top quarter of the windscreen!
Another little job to do! :duh: |
Yeah my headlining dropped a couple of months ago too! I suppose it's 16 years, whaddya expect? :D

I had a similar problem with bits of foam being ejected from the centre vents. When I swapped my dash from a late type to an early type I think bought some self adhesive foam to replace the part which seals against the ducting and I swapped around the actual flaps as I think the foam on the them was better on the older ones that the later one - perhaps cheap quality was used later on. |
Hope I don’t get any sagging with my tourer with a sunroof. :}

Might have to employ drawing pins, it's some way down the list of things that must/should/would be nice/ to get done...
