Interesting find. it looks as though it was possibly a factory car as it was previously registered BX04.

Yes it was a factory 4.6 260. Used to belong to a owner local to me :)

Even more interesting how it found its way to America. I know there are a couple of 260 in America but i dont think they were ever sold there were they?

No MGR cars were sold new in North America (USA or Canada) There were a few cars in Minnesota for winter testing and an SV-S at Roush Engineering when the company went under. The SV-S is in good hands as are 4 or so 75/ZTs that have since surfaced. Apparently there were some MGFs as well but they have not surfaced yet. There was also one ZT-T on the loose. Not sure if it was V6 or V8. The car that Shrader has done the Coyote V8 swap on was imported to the US a couple of years ago. I'm not sure how they managed it as used cars are not importable into the US until they are 25 years old. There are a couple of clever ways for firms to import cars for testing and development and Schrader likely used one of those. They also have another V6 ZT and recently bought one of the R75 development cars as well, also a V6. It will be interesting to see what they do with them.

There is a caveat in the rules on importation that parts can be sent over so the 25-year importation rule does not apply.

I believe the V8 was sent over with no engine breaks etc i.e a rolling shell then built up from there with the Coyote and supercharger by Steve.

#023 was imported to USA for Roush to work on the supercharger installation, it was described as a 'Mustang Estate' to get around the import regulations!
