rover 75 heater problem
 
hi i have a issue with my heating system on my rover 75 v6 auto 2002 i have had a new heater matrix fitted new thermostat fitted i am getting luke warm air from drivers side and cold air out the drivers side has been flushed out twice by a rover garage has anybody any idea what could be the problem.im getting to the point now its time to get rid of the car or does anybody no somebody local to me who could fix my problem i am in hertfordshire thanks very much andy

Ask the Rover garage if they have RAVE and whether they followed the recommended filling and bleeding procedure. This involves raising the expansion tank on the V6. If this procedure isn't followed, air locks can occur and your symptoms suggest that.

Or better still, do it yourself! The only tools you'll need are a couple of screwdrivers. :}

Quite agree - I have had the same issues :D - .... Many times over the years.

It's very simple to raise the header tank - one screw then move tank to the right to free it from two lugs, there is also a bleed screw in the larger hose found in the direction front to rear under/near the air filter box, although I very rarely find air here but it worth checking. Squeezing-releasing the larger house running across the top of the radiator also helps.
