Torque Wrench(s)
 

Afternoon,
I would like to buy a torque wrench (or two if necessary) which would meet the majority of my needs working on a Rover 75. Can I have your suggestions/recommendations please. Thanks.

Then a 28-210 Nm Clarke or Silverline (approx £30) to keep in the boot for the wheel nuts.

For a jobbing DIY'er the Halfords range is ideal; very good quality and decently priced. Always worth checking if they're doing any online discounts or Manager's Specials in store. My personal favourite is the KD range which is down to my Grandfather having their stuff, being a very talented engineer he was extremely particular about his handtools.

I have Draper professional. I like the fact they come in a decent plastic protective case and quite like Drape tools as I find them good quality and long lasting.

others can advise, if a Torque wrench that does a very wide range of Torque, is any better or worse then one that covers a smaller range of Torque

Of all the torque wrenches I've owned (I have a few for the day job) Norbar have remained the most accurate over time.

Will agree , for the cost, the quality of Norbar takes some beating ,as in a professional setting they perform and retain accuracy well

I would agree the Norbar range is fantastic quality but if you want something that is more budget friendly and in my experience almost as good is one of these

I keep one in the boot of my car just incase. I checked it against a calibrated torque wrench and it was within a couple of lbft at 100lbft.

On the recommendation of a regular poster member I purchased one 2-3 years back from Lidl - blown plastic case, extension bar and 3 sockets included. Good quality although I haven't tried to calibrate it but it does the job for me.

getting a torque wrench calibrated seems to be a bit of an issue.
I think Mike Noc does his own, is that right Mike?
