Total loss
Well a very sad day for me today I have just lost my duotone tourer. I put four new tyres on her today had the tracking done, gave her a service ready to leave for Glen Nevis at 4 am tomorrow, she repaid me by going up in flames. She is a total loss I wonder if the insurance company will insult me with their settlement. The fire seems to have started under the dash on the drivers side.

That's a crying shame mate, so sorry. Light switch module the usual culprit, no good to you now though.

Sorry to hear the news but at least you are safe.

That is such a shame.

Really truly sorry to hear this.
I'm shocked to hear that there is a potential fire issue though. Was you driving the car at the time? Or was it parked and just started? I hope everyone is ok? |
Oh gosh must be so frightening to see too. I always carry a fire extinguisher but what real effect it would have on a car ablaze I'm not sure.
So long as no one was hurt a car can be replaced. |

Is there any way to spot a failing LSM? Can they fail while the car is stationery and the ignition switched off, or do they only fail when the ignition is on? Bit worrying. If anyone has more information that would be very welcome. |
Unusual in dry weather - normally when water gets into the LSM and it shorts.
