Changing Air filter 1.8T
 

Can anyone point me to the easiest way to do this, i.e remove less stuff! sensor/wires seems to have been cable tied on to the side.

I can see clips on the front of cover and screws on the back + pipe on the side, what needs to come off to open up please?

(I'm not too handy in the engine bay as you can tell!)

That's why it's always a good idea to have a handbook/manual. You don't need to take anything off the side of the filter box. Undo the screws which are captive, rotate toward the front, this will give you access to the filter which sits in the box.
What makes you think you need to change the air filter?

started to be rough/lumpy on cold start up, a bit of "judder" sometimes at top of throttle application,

Just starting with the cheapest way to eliminate problems after doing some reading.

Anyone have any other ideas about being a bit lumpy on a cold start?

Plug change maybe?

It might be worth looking at the ignition coils.

Lumpy running on startup usually indicates a leaking inlet manifold gasket. Gap the plugs to .75/.80mm too:cool:
