EBay Click and Collect. Failed

I’ve used EBay for buying since 2002 and occasionally sell when I need to have a clear out of my shed.
First time ever, 15th April I tried the Click and Collect service. Designed I would imagine to help you receive items when you are not at home and no more “courier failed to deliver” as no one at home.
Sounds simple. My local collection point is a shop just half a mile away. Pick it up on my way home from work. Ideal.
Allowing for Easter and bank holidays I waited 10 days. It’s a new radiator for a 1997 VW Polo that I’m putting back on the road after the owner died in 2013. Once fixed the family will have it back for just the cost of the parts used to bring it back to MOT pass and like with the radiator anything that’s broken.
Once the collection store receives the item, they book it in as arrived and EBay sends you a 7 digit collection code so you can pick it up. It’s now 8th May and I still have no code. Been to the store twice and I can see my parcel but can’t pick it up. EBay have been useless after 2 issues raised on their site. I’m sat at home waiting for their “call back” service. Site says 2 minute wait. Now been waiting 45 minutes. At least I can work at home fixing the seats from my Streetwise in the dry.
It’s just like waiting for the courier to arrive.

I select a local Argos and get a text to let me know its available for collection.

I’m still waiting for the email/text to tell me. Total failure.

I've always had a good experience with click and collect, apart from once where I didn't get notification of delivery after waiting 2 week. In this instance I contacted the seller who was actually really helpful who investigated and discovered the courier had lost the item. They sent another one out which arrived promptly and all was good. Until about 6 week later when I got a notification saying my item was ready to collect!

Yes we’ve exchanged plenty of messages and he has contacted EBay too. It seems EBay is unable to react in an appropriate way to get things moving. It’s now 13.42 and still no call back from them.

Today, 25 days after placing my order I got my collection code.
At least the shop owner and I were able to have a laugh about it.
Never again.

On the same subject of E-Mail, on the sellers page it might state location of item, in my case Loughborough, so one would expect delivery within 3 to 4 days, not all the way from bleddy china it aint!, these twits should be reported fo false information.
