Inline Thermostat
Just ordered an inline thermostat for my 75 cdti from Mat at DMGRS, as ive only been getting upto about 75 degrees, so the new stat should push the temperature into the mid eighties where it belongs, enjoy doing these little mods which improve the car. :}

The new stat should put the temp when hot at 90 degrees give or take 1 degree.
I changed my oem one and it now sits at exactly 90 degrees on the motorway but drops in this cold weather when I leave the motorway to between 84 and 88 degrees. |
Mine works a treat :}

Could anyone post the link to buying this and also the link for fitting it as I can't find it amongst all the posts

The link you want is
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...68468&page=105 The tricky bit is cutting off the old band off round the top hose. In the end I went for the diesel remote kit which was a lot easier to fit, you just need to cut 6mm out of the top hose. Note the assembly has different diameters at each end to cater for the top hose taper. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-M...item566d1d24ac If you want to use the Renault thermostat go to DMGRS shop under "Traders Shops" Mike |

Not trying to be picky - just that I've been debating which approach to go for with this myself. :} |

I found this approach by far the easiest 15 mins, a Stanley knife and a 7mm socket for the jubilee clips... |
Here's the link to my kit - it's the version which fits within the hose itself.
A choice of 86 or 89 degree is available. Inline Thermostat Kit - Rover 75 / MG ZT |
The only tricky bit I found doing this job was shoving the new stat down the rubber hose. In the end I used a piece of white plumbing waste pipe; 1 1/2" or 1 3/4"; cant remember which. It worked a treat because you dont risk damaging the new stat.
Hope that helps. |
Purchased a stat from Mat a couple of weeks ago, arrived ok, decided to fit it last weekend but not too happy with the existing hose, where could I get a new top hose from? :shrug:
