not again (head gasket)
 
hello people head gasket has gone again owned the car just under 2 years it spent 4 month off the road this is the 3rd time its gone i ve had the head skimmed is there anything else that could be causing the problem just to make it worse its the first time its been started in 2 weeks as the clutch slave cylinder has gone i only started it up to keep battery charged 2 mins later white smoke started pooring out the back and all the coolant in header tank had gone and condensation on oil cap

Hello Stranger, did you use the new MLS gasket and oil ladder rail? if not, thats the way to go.

how are you all not shown much interest in anything car related for past 11 month and 21 days but get my license back in ten days just as the car breaks down so i cant drive anywhere but i'll be at a meet before the end of the year had the landrover gasket done from someone based in birmingham last year this gasket has lasted just over a year one before that only lasted a couple on month

Looks like it will be in October Chris, this month's meet is a combined Yorkshire/ Geordie meet on the 27th at Locomotion at Shildon, Co. Durham. ;)

Nothing more discouraging than continual head gasket failure.
Just thought I would mention that I once had a Singer Vogue (what's that you say?) with the same problem.

Head was skimmed each time it happened and the head gasket replaced.
Eventually a replacement short block was neccessary. The problem never returned.
I am convinced that the original block itself was distorted.
