MG ZT 190 Project LPG. (Picture heavy)
Hi all,
As most of you may know me but just in case you don't a sum up of my history with the 'ZT' before I start the lpg project. It all started in 2009 with my 1st ZT V6 160, I brought it from ebay as a spares or repair, it was 8 years old with 8 owners and it had a hard life! After 2 mths of hard work it was back on the road. I also fitted lpg to it. http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...GZT2010028.jpg This ZT was then used as my daily drive for the next 2 years. I then sold it to TonyW because after mths of searching I found the rare monogram 190 I had been looking for (more about this car a bit later). I also during the few years brought 2 V6 ZT as spares or repair to save and put back on the road. The 1st was a silver 190 with a leaking water pump (it was not changed then the timing belts were done)- http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...0Silver001.jpg This was then sold on to a member on the mg-rover.org who still has the car. I also got 'mud'- http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps3d296dda.jpg This was sold with HGF but I found it was just the coolant temp sensor was not working (the last owner took it for a mot and it overheated in the mot bay and the garage said its the head gasket gone mate, so it was sold on). I couldn't sell this one on so seancar brought it. More details of my rare (not any more) monogram ZT and my new lpg project to follow. |
The red one is on swapz at the moment but it looks like its had a few things changed on it
no way as nice as it looks when you had it :xmas-smiley-018: http://www.swapz.co.uk/swapz/4210861/MG_ZT_2_5V6_LPG_/ |

In 2009 I got a monogram 190 in Celestial Supertallic one of only 7 ZTs 190 in this colour and I think the only one ordered with lpg then new.
http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...ZT190016-1.jpg http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...ZT190007-1.jpg This ZT was ordered from new with lpg (the cars left the factory and lpg was fitted on route to the dealers). It was in the 'monogram showcase' at the mg ZedTen in 2011. I had no plans on selling/changing this car but I had a accident back in October and it was written off. Pictures to follow. |
The end of my monogram ZT- I loss control of my ZT as I came out of a right hand bend, the road was water logged. It started to oversteer, just as I got her straight the o/s/r wheel hit more water and me into a spin into a tree.-
http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...psa6de21a8.jpg http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...psbedb70e7.jpg http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...psb6944292.jpg Damage to both o/s/doors, roof, door pillar, sill, front and rear bumper, rear wing and rear suspension. It was a cat c write off. I was totally gutted!! Still a lesson learned, don't put new tyres on the front and near the limit tyres on the rear. So after a few weeks of trying to decide what car to buy, I brought this - http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps20546b3e.jpg http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...psb171cba0.jpg http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps8a998e54.jpg A 2004 190, 80k, 2 owners, cambelts changed with FSH. It had to have lpg fitted as I travel 25k per year. I'm not new to lpg as I have fitted systems to the wife's jag, Rover Steetwise, Volvo V70 and my 1st ZT. I had this lpg system which a got for £40 from a breakers- http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7a4c83e2.jpg Its a BRC system which is one of the best, this would cost about £2k to be fitted new. Just needed to now find a tank and buy all new pipes and software. |

Just a word of warning. I text the guy earlier from the swapz site and asked what cash deal he was looking for and if the car had been a write off. His reply as below. It has part service hist up to 93k, never been wrote off. It has had its front bumper replaced at some point but I think that's because it had projector headlights. Just incase anyone was interested in it. Nothing wrong with a cat C or D but either he is lying or he doesn't know. Anyway Simon sorry to hijack. Do carry on old bean |
