Spanner storage
Morning all
Looking for ideas for storing my spanners , I have a tool chest and the other bits like sockets and screw drivers etc are all nice and tidy. The spanners are just in a draw so was wondering what people are using. I have looked around you tube and sharks teeth look like a good idea Thanks in advance Stan |

I have a board hung on the wall with screws to hang spanners on.
(I've actually got 3 boards! Metric, AF and Whitworth spanners. Oh, and one for hammers, and another for Stilsons and Moles, and some more for other things!) |

Which is the main thing I wanted to avoid , I did see 1 on the tube which was a board with dowels so the spanners were more upright but I cant find it now Stan |

No wall space unfortunately, too much junk and not enough garage Stan |

Another option is some foam and cut out to suit each spanner

Mine are just in the top tray of my toolbox, but I’ve put a band of paint (or tape on some) in different colours, to identify the various sizes, so I can pick them out easily. I did have an idiot guide taped inside the lid initially.
And I keep the metric ones apart from the older oddments. Works for me. |
I too have boards screwed to the wall and it makes stuff easy to find.
Would you be able to hinge boards, similar to doors and fix to anything in the garage? macafee2 |
