Club Calendar 2020 Submissions - Deadline 15th September

Club Calendar 2020

For the twelfth year running, the club is preparing to produce a pictorial calendar for the new year.

The format will be A3 glossy.

Submissions are limited to one per member
and it's open to subscribed and non subscribed members this year.

You are each invited to submit one picture only of your car for possible inclusion in the calendar.
Scanned pictures must be 300 DPI A4 or digital photographs must be high quality for print at 2480px x 1748px in landscape mode.

Obviously only twelve can be chosen and the final selection will be made by the Club Team.

All technically suitable entries will be posted in a temporary gallery for all to view until the closing date for submissions, allowing all to see what images are being offered. Following the closing date, the team will decide on the final selection, however any comments about individual submissions prior to that point would be greatly appreciated.

We always consider group photos of 75's and ZT's for the front cover so if you have any suitable quality pics from any of the meets they will also be considered.

Submissions should be in jpeg (100%).

To submit your photograph:-
Simply send an email with your correctly sized jpeg photograph as an attachment to the following address
:smilie_re: [email protected]

Please could you include your forum username within the email message or title, and also include any additional background detail such as where the picture was taken and make and model etc. which we would be able to include in the calendar.

Once I have received your picture, I will upload it for reference onto this thread and retain the full size original until it is ready for use.

The closing date for submissions is midnight on Sunday 15th September

Small Print
Copyright of submitted pictures must belong to the person submitting them, this to be transferred to the club for the purposes of creating the calendar.
This is to cover the club in the event stock or studio photographs are submitted. Personal ownership, ie your own photographs, the club simply requires your permission which we will take as read by your submission.
We also need to know whether you have a preference for displaying your number plate, or not. Blanking out of number plates may possibly render the picture unusable
.

Thanks Bob, I got your submission, but it's not high enough quality for print.

It needs to be 2480 pixels x 1748 pixels but yours is 985 x 739 pixels, so when blown up to 2480 x 1748 would look digital and blocky.

Can you resend at higher resolution?

Also, Nobby, while the black and white image is moody and striking, can you send a colour version as we always prefer to add a splash of technicolour to each month

Keep them coming folks, lets see your cars in all their glory for all to enjoy throughout the coming year :cool2:

Reebs 4th September 2019 16:11

Thanks Bob, resent picture has landed and is now added to the others in post #2 :}

Dallas 4th September 2019 20:37

My entry is currently traveling through cyberspace Paul. ;)

Reebs 5th September 2019 19:12

Thanks Wes, your image has arrived and is uploaded to the gallery, and thanks Nobby for sending a full colour version too

Lets have some more entries folks, the sun is out at the moment so get clicking your pride and joys in lots of interesting places

Reebs 7th September 2019 22:01

Mininuts, and Cable Tie, I've added your entries and thanks Dawn too, message received and understood, yours is also now in the submissions gallery :}

So far the MGs are beating the 75s 5-2 :p:

Keep 'em coming folks

Reebs 10th September 2019 11:25

Gaz Yorkshire, yours has arrived

That's another ZT, come on all you Rover 75 owners, get snapping

Rick-sta 11th September 2019 16:27

Just submitted my entry Paul :) Let me know if it comes through as the first email always goes missing every year for some reason lol

marinabrian 11th September 2019 23:00

Well for what it's worth I reckon the deadline should be extended slightly to include the Holland trip pictures, after all it's not often something, along these lines occurs.

A week cannot make that much difference to the print order of the calendars

Brian :D

P.S. when was Bob at Nigel Farrage's house :getmecoat:

It came through Rick, but it's not high enough resolution it's 1105 x 735 but needs to be a minimum of 2480 x 1748. Can you email the original as a jpeg attachment instead?

A valid point Brian, I have an issue with time in terms of getting the submissions in, giving the team time to vote, designing a cover and after sending it all off, waiting to receive a hard copy proof before the print run is done. I am working on the Rugby World Cup from Next Wednesday which means I'm away from home staying over in Maidstone most days for the first three weeks and then I fly out to Japan for three weeks for the tail end of the tournament before getting back the Monday before the NEC (when we have to have them delivered by) which is on the Thursday, hence trying to get it done as soon as poss.

When are you all back from Holland? I may be able to extend the deadline by a week but that's probably it

BTW, Raspberrycai and R75800sd1 both of your submissions landed and are in the post #2

That's odd, the image I sent has a 6016 x 4000 resolution. I've sent it through again as a JPG. Not sure if uploading it onto hotmail's one drive reduces the size of the image maybe.

We would all be back on the 23rd Paul, however I'd say it would be eminently possible to email some shots from the Boxtel show on the 22nd, or even some continental shots enroute on the 20th ;)

I was speaking to Ian, and he thought it would be rather nice to capture the furthest away meet in the history of the club in the calendar.

Brian :D

Reebs 12th September 2019 21:43

Well that would be great if you can get them to me during your trip Brian. A nice group shot for the cover would be appreciated, or a collective one for one of the month pages?

I’ll try and delay as long as I can then, so please do remember to take some for me

Dammit!

I wanted to submit one this year, but the picture I'd saved was on Tinypic, and now it's gone! :(

I may still have it on my computer - I'll check tomorrow morning.

Be quick, just waiting for a few from the Netherlands now.

Zircon 16th September 2019 12:15

Missed deadline😰

Hi Paul,

Been glued to The Ashes and together with work issues, only just seen that I have missed the deadline - again!

Still, there is always next year ... good luck to everyone:-) .

All the best,

Nicholas/Zircon

Reebs 16th September 2019 13:29

Go on Nicholas, if you’ve got a nice picture email it over. I’m still open for a short while longer while I wait for the Holland lot to get snapping. :}

Zircon 16th September 2019 15:57

That's very kind of you, Paul. It's one I snapped on my phone a few month's back ... a night-time shot, that might not be up to scratch (but at least it won't show the scratches ;)).

All the best, Nicholas/Zircon

Bogbrush82 17th September 2019 17:39

Typical. I find the naffing photo and now it's too late. :(

Oh well, I've sent it anyway on the vague hope that there's been a cancellation.

Sjonnie 22nd September 2019 15:08

Well I got to say: these are some fine specimens of an era sadly gone. I appreciate the high number of MG's in this line-up and hope to be looking at them for the 12 months 2020 has to offer!

Sadly I was too late for my admission (I should make a note in my agenda ;)) but 2021 is only a heartbeat away so who knows :)

ceedy 22nd September 2019 16:56

Not sure what you can do with this panoramic??
