MK1 to MK2 SRS compatibility question.

Question about these SRS wires.

I have fitted Monaco Blue Insert Seats from a ca. 2001 MK1 ZT 190 Tourer to my MK2 2005 ZT-T Tourer. Both cars had their SRS under seat connections hard wired. I used miniature crocodile clips to make the connections after fitting the "upgrade".. Switched on but no joy. Wire colours are confusing and I'll need to take a closer look.

So my question. Are there wiring compatibility issues with these fitting across the MK1 and MK2 tourer ZT-Ts ?

The SRS connections are not polarised, and as long as you make the connections in a sound manner and to the correct pair, then there won't be a problem.

I attached the SRS diagram to my reply to your other post on this subject, however it goes without saying that this can be done successfully, as I have 2003 ZT sport leather fitted in my 2005 75 "Nontemporaryasseur"

No I haven't Derek, however that looks like a good excuse to get soaked through on a wet bank holiday weekend.

I'll give you a shout when I've done them ;)

Colours are definitely the same ;). I've done it myself. The colours are different side to side. People tend to recommend removing the battery, I've never removed it when doing those bits or wiring or the steering wheel airbag, but I would remove it when doing side impact sensors as these can set the airbags off :P

They're done Derek ;)

I got a bit carried away :o

While I had the gear out, I made the decision to make another couple of sets to replace the tired ones fitted to the front of the wife's Classicasseur SE, and the absolutely rubbish garage fitted pipes on the front of my dad's Tourer.

The tool I linked to for Derek was to put the final bend in only.

I use one of THESE made in England.

Of course you could always use one of THESE while I'm sure it will do the same job, I don't know that it will last for the 25+ years I've owned the Record 210, nor would I know where it was manufactured.

It's one of those dilemmas really, I always tend to buy the British option if there is one, as I like to support local manufacturing, on the other hand if it's something rarely to be used, then can the increased cost of the UK made tool be justified

I can recommend the former based upon personal experience, the latter I cannot ;)

Have fun.......oh and the 1800 really is a doddle to work on fitting these pipes, being fitted with the "space saver" engine, just remember that the last bend must be formed after the pipe is fed through the grommet on the inner wing
