Vague Steering

Hi all. I'm after some advise.

I have noticed recently that the steering on my ZT is becoming increasingly vague.

There is no knocking. But when I jacked up the driver's side front wheel. I can push the wheel/hub forward with a very definite movement, which would indicate that the bottom ball joint has gone. Which would be odd as I replaced both front wishbones and rear bushes only last October (7 mounts ago).

I'm probably clutching at strews here as I really don't wont to be doing them again. Is there anything else that I need to check? For e.g. the front hubs where they mount??.

Failing that could anyone recommend somewhere reputable to purchase new ones.

Regards
Paul

Look closely at the play- it could be the lower hub worn and the ball joint moving in the hub. If the hub has worn then you will need a new one.

The factory torque setting is barely enough to hold the ball joint tightly, and any play at all will soon wear the hub away.

Have you checked the rear Bush on the end of the wishbone. That what it sounds like to me from the symptoms mentioned.

I'd agree with this too. Try pushing the wheel backwards with your foot when the car is on level ground, any movement and the bush will be shot.
