Krown Rustproofing

Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone has had Krown near Brum do their car? I've been looking around at all the places and types of rustproofing so as to make a decision what I'm doing next year after the underside is finished.

The Waxoyl and Dinitrol places seem to be very expensive at around £500 for a 75, and the Krown method doesn't seem too shabby from the videos. (There is one of a MG ZT being done) It is clear, not black, but as long as my car is saved from salt etc I'm not bothered about that. Am very interested at this point.

Anyone used them/got any opinions?

Dawn :)

I'm on the other side really. Just thought that the Krown version just look like they just sprayed oil everywhere.

Personally........I would waxoyl mine

To be honest, I had a bit of a bad experience with Waxoyl where it actually let water under it. I don't know it that was a one off thing or not - I have been considering these guys, as I used some Dinitrol myself in the sills and was quite pleased with the stuff. Only thing is, it takes two days and it would mean hiring a car to get home while they do it. :(

What sort of guarantees do they give for their treatment and work? And do they sort it out if something goes wrong? I'd be looking at the terms of the deal. The anti rust methods are likely to be fairly similar. Problem with waxoyl is making sure it goes everywhere to the right thickness.

I spoke to Krown on their FB page, and they said depending on the condition of the car when they do it, they give upto five years guarantee. I can't see anything like that on Rustbusters site, and it does have t0 go back there every year for a "top up" at a cost of £50.

That's quite interesting. Rustbuster products did well in the tests. I can't really compare it with Krown as that wasn't part of the test, though.

It's quite scary to see what the weather and salt do to even treated metal. :(

Have just spent half hour reading Krown blurbs and watching video. Did not think much of it, but pertains to be multi functional in that it also lubricates all items that move, and because of its properties, it is also good for hidden electrical connections. Another very good reccomendation is that it is used on the Canadian Armies trucks at assembly stage. Must do as it says on the tin.

Hi.
I've used Waxoyl fo as long as I can remember, more recently I mix it with WD40 from the 5 litre pack. I've already made a start on the Panda the design of which makes the job easy. Sills have 5 removable plugs each side, the cross member to protect the occupants also is easy to gain access to with 3 plugs. The inner and outer wings are easy to access with No dismantling required.
I can do the under bonnet stuff on a dry day but under the car will be done in the summer if we get a warm day.
