Windscreen washer blocked
Trying to sort out my windsreen washer which blocked. The filter isn't blocked, and pump sprays water when pipes are disconnected. It's not working for both the front and rear washers. Don't know if i have to replace the spray nozzles, but if so need heated ones, or is there anything i can put in to clear the blockage.
Also looking for hose connector for headlight washer as one has broken in half. |
The fact its both front and rear, to me points to the pump, but you could disconnect the pipes at the pump and use an air line on each jet to back flush any blockage . Careful as it could blow the pipe off & then you would have to dismantle to reconnect.

As previously stated the pump works with water pipes disconnected. Also don't have access to air hose to blow out pipes.

try putting a pin in the whole of the jet where water comes out, sometimes works.
Not sure if lime scale is the problem blocking the jet so try a lime scale remover. I think you can get ford heated jets that fit but you have to change the electrical connector macafee2 |

Remove the sound proofing to the underside of the bonnet and you will see a connector that will be your problem it will be blocked inside. I tried using a bike pump on mine to unblock it worked for a while in the end I changed if for another connector y shape bee great ever since. https://i.imgur.com/W3sSTLal.jpg1 https://i.imgur.com/WRo84cdl.jpg2 https://i.imgur.com/6kEV60rl.jpg3 https://i.imgur.com/bPb3bxjl.jpg4 https://i.imgur.com/ff5PBpIl.jpg5 In the end I used this below and worked ever since no blockages https://i.imgur.com/5tO6jEGl.jpg6 |

I knew the pump was ok because the rear washers were working fine. After peeling back the top of the soundproofing (those fixings are a pain to remove until you get the knack) I disconnected the supply tube from the 3-way connector and that was then pumping out as it should. So I took the 3-way off completely and connected the supply tube in turn to the 2 outlets and they were flowing between each other so it was clear that it was the bit in the centre that was the problem. Used the same Y-connector (from the Halfords box I got, again on your advice, when sorting the sun roof issue) and it's fine. The one little concern I have is that I think the white cap on the original 3-way is a non-return valve (and was jammed), which presumably is meant to stop the washer fluid flowing back down into the reservoir (and maybe also prevents muck going down there). |
Hi
Anyone got a part number for the Ford Focus jets? Cheers |
