New petrol

will we be able to use the new petrol when it is introduced this autumn?

According to the site, all Land Rover petrol vehicles after 1996 are Okay so we should be fine.😉 We have the same engines.

Is super (97-99 octane) also going to be E10?

I hadn't heard about this before. Seems like more ways to hit the motorist

Apparently E10 will become standard and those who need E5 will need to buy super unleaded? Sigh

That was the initial proposal. That was a few years ago and the powers that be might have changed things. That was why I was asking if super would remain at E5.

Are our petrol tanks ok ? I have read that there is a problem with fibreglass / plastic tanks

I think our tanks are plastic ? Never come across a fibreglass tank !

Is that the V6s only, or K-Series as well?

Thinking about my TF, not the tractor obviously...

Since nearly 4 years & 30k km (around 20k mls) I'm filling the tank with E85 (octane 105) without any problem at all. And with 2 resistors to trick the ECU (intake air sensor & coolant sensor) it drives fine and the engine is more responsive and has more oomph in the low revs.
No damage at all to any hose and I know to have taken off the head and the like of an 1.4 engine (Rover 25 - 4 years & 40k km / 26 mls) that the whole engine, valves & the like are nearly as clean as new, and spark plugs as well of a nice creamy colour.
Hence have no fear gents!

I rang Sthil about my petrol combi motor, they did not have a clue about E10.
