Carpet removal how to
Hi everyone
My carpet got very wet last weekend in the car wash when i found my plenum drain was blocked. The amount of water under the carpet means i need to take the carpet out. I was wondering if there is a how to on removing the carpets but i can not find out does any know of one or is it worth me making one when i take carpet out next weekend. Thanks Alex |
I don't think there's a how to,
But having taken a carpet out once but i was braking the car so did't have to refit it :) it's not something i would like to have to do and refit, the main work is removal of the centre console which has lots of equipment that needs to be taken off / undone. |
Couple of pictures from Alex's thread.

It's very straight forward...
You need to remove 4 door sill trims Both front seats Rear seat base (lift it up) Centre console front kick panels Foot rest both lower dash panels Lower seatbelt mounting bolt and trim. (I think that's about it) You'll need possibly 2 other people to help you lift it out.....they're heavy enough when dry |
It's the Centre console part that is the pain ;)
Can you list everything that needs to be removed so that can be removed :) |

two 10mm bolts in the rear ashtray/holder two screws at he side down by the seat belt buckle. Remove gear knob / gaiter Remove handbrake gaiter Unplug the grey multi connector as you lift it up. I think that's about it. |
