On Jules very helpful 'how to' re the top hose 'stat he uses a toothed metal cutter, so of to the shops now.

I used a cheap dremel type rotary tool which only cost £15 from halfords and came with a load of attachments. It's labelled as a craft tool set but it managed to cut through the metal band on my top hose. Took about 2 minutes with taking care not to damage the actual hose itself.

That's what i've used Chris, a draper model, but the cutting discs just wear away without even scratching the metal band. Which attachment did you use mate? cheers

The small grinding wheels should get through it eventually.
It's a stainless steel band so quite tuff, but as Chris says with the "right tool," like butter ;)

Jules, i've just ordered original dremel hss metal saw discs off ebay....hope they work!

I just used the little black cutting disc that came in the set.
