Tourer Aerial amp connections

i am hoping to upgrade the rather poor window aerials in my tourer for a roof mounted version. Does anyone know what the type of connection the socket to the radio lead is called (its the long black socket) and likewise, the stubby little connection to the window aerial is called (I will be connecting the new aerial to this). Many thanks. :) ps its the little square blue amp.

The chances of getting new aerial plugs are pretty small.

You could cut the plug off the aerial connection to the amp and fit a female to

wire that goes to the radio and connect the new roof aerial wire to this

connector.

As the aerial amp connector to the side window is very small and a male part to

plug would be near impossible to find I found that buying a aftermarket

aerial amp is the answer. This could be mounted at the radio end of the cable

Pull the roof lining down a little and mount the aerial as shown.

It takes a bit of courage to drill a hole in he roof but just mark the position

very carefully.

many thanks, that's a much better idea, fitting new connectors rather than trying to find existing old versions. Missing ClassicFM already so will give that a try this weekend! :)

I would also recommend that you wire up the aerial, the aerial amp and connect this to the radio to test that all is well before you drill the hole in the roof.

There is a 12v aerial power wire. pin 5 on the large grey ISO plug.
