Horn packed up (V6)

No juice coming through from horn wire connector: wiring disappears up behind bonnet switch. Does the feed come off that?

If its not the fuse, it's usually a brake in the harness where it rubs on the slam panel, I have seen a couple that have done the same.

Have you had the bumper off along with slam panel for any reason lately ? if so was the plug connection made properly nearest the washer bottle, the wires can also chaff on the chassis arm

I go to any lengths to avoid taking off the bumper, Steve. I believe the fuse (31?) also controls rear fog lights so if they're working I assume I can leave that well alone. I'll wiggle out the bonnet switch using your two card trick tomorrow and trace back. Thanks for your advice.

Can't extract bonnet switch

Regret Steve your "two card trick" won't release the bonnet switch. But maybe I should be using American Express? As the bonnet open light doesn't come on I'm assuming there's something awry with the wiring here.

Well it was a nice idea . . .

Your first idea is on the money Dave. There's no need to remove the bonnet switch. Trace its supply wire, yellow/brown, back to connector C1227/C1228. This connector also carries the supply to the horn which is the only component fed by fuse 31.

The bonnet switch is supplied separately by the BCU.

Removing the bumper looks more daunting than it actually is. I found the bumper removal part of this how to a great help first time I did it.
