brake pad warning light on after hitting a pothole
 

hi all, so i hit a pothole and the brake pad warning light has come on....and stayed on...does this make any sense to anyone pls? the impact was front near side....

Most likely a coincidence, as the brake wear sensors are on front & rear OS only, check that the wiring as not chaffed on the front, or indeed that the pads have worn down.

so quick update...wire has been ripped from the wheel and just hanging there...garage quoted £48 part and labour..no idea if this is good or not...

Rip off! New sensor plug is about a tenner, or, cut the plug off and join the wires together completing the circuit.:cool:

Stay clear of that garage they are pulling the wool over your eyes, as above no more than £10.00 for the part if that, and 5 minutes to fit, including removing the front wheel.

Or as already mentioned bare the two wires twist together and add a little bit of heat shrink the light will go out, and then all you need to do is a visual test on the pads few times a year. ;)
