Pipercross Air Filter

Hi everyone, I have a 75 diesel and went to change the air filter today with a Pipercross one. It will just not go over the maf intake. I have checked the part number on the Pipercross site and it is correct. The filter, although it looks the same, it is smaller in diameter. Has anyone had problems fitting these or have I just got a duff one. Thanks

I had the same problem. I ended up cutting some of the plastic lug off the filter to get it to fit.

Please let Pipercross know there is a problem

Thanks for the replies. I don't fancy cutting it off for the price I paid and I will let Pipercross know. Has anyone fitted a Ramair which I have just seen?

Hi Richard.
Any reason why you do not just want to fit an original one? as below

It won't make the car faster Richard, and my experience of "lifetime" filters and 75 diesels are normally when the MAF sensor has become contaminated.

I'd say send it back as it doesn't fit, and treat yourself to a standard filter ;)

Hi, Steve and Brian, thanks for the info. Just thought a long life one might save a bit of money also might increase the airflow a bit, but I am probably going up the wrong track as usual.

If you want to increase airflow, you will have to lose the restrictive hole into the airbox I'm afraid, the filter isn't the issue on the diesels ;)
