Diesel Injectors
 

Can anyone help?

Are the diesel injectors for the TD4 Land Rover the same as the 75 & ZT ones, I have been asked by a friend who wants buy some from eBay, I am sure I have seen a tread about them before, but just can not find it, I thought when I replaced 2 of mine they were from a TD4.

I think the part numbers are different, but both fit and do the same job

Pretty sure they are.
Refurbished ones here at reasonable price I believe.

I dont see any reason why they would be different but I did read here somewhere to never trust injectors from ebay.

There is an article in this months Car Mechanics about the 75 and they claim that the injectors are available from eurocarparts for £85.76

A major problem when changing out injectors is that you don't know whether the ones you buy are anywhere near balanced.
This makes a tremendous difference to the smooth running of the engine, especially at tickover.

You can get a set of your own done by Alan Darby at Lynx Diesels for about £90 each, and he is a perfectionist when it comes to rebuilding and balancing. Absolutely worth the few extra quid over buying something off the 'net. His turnaround time is very quick, so you won't be off the road long.

Interesting. Apologies for hijacking this thread, but I've noticed that one of my injectors has probably been replaced. Is it possible to just balance that one injector?

Not without sending all 4 off at the same time, although if you have 1 out you can't run the car anyway.
The engine management system can compensate up to a point, so depends whether you are happy with the way it runs or not.

That wouldn't be too much of a problem because I'm close enough to cycle to work anyway. Besides, I can still use the fiesta if I really need to!

I'll see how the lower engine mount swap, injector cleaner and PCV filter replacement works, then I'll see if I can justify balancing the injector(s).
