The Bridge to nowhere

'The Bridge to nowhere' found at Belhaven beach, Dunbar, East Lothian.

The Biel water is a small river which flows under this bridge to the North Sea.
At low tide, you can walk across the bridge to get to the other side of the river and continue onto the beach. However, when the tide comes in, the bridge gets submerged and appears to be stranded in the middle of the sea serving no obvious purpose.

Same here and for some reason it's kind of spooky :eek:

Thanks. Yeah, I think it's quite a cool little bridge. To strangers that come and see it at high tide, they must be thinking what the heck?!

Now that is a strange looking thing to see, well observed and captured Rav :)

Here is a mobile pic of it at a low tide...well, semi low as it was slowly coming in. So different. You can just see the small river beneath the bridge.

If you go over the bridge and the tide comes in, are you stranded there to meet your fate?

You will be stuck there until the tide records. :D

Or, in stormy conditions, you may not come back at all...:o
