Lovely pics as usual Jeff and cute to boot but wouldn't a small surgical procedure both in dogs and cats help to reduce numbers of strays and neglected animals. You do an excellent job trying to remove pets I know and its very laudable but control might be a better solution don't you think. Shame yo didn't make the Star meeting it was a great day and when Stu turned up in Alison the day was complete, perhaps next month no littlebchef sadly but the food is good or bring own tuckbox

Been too long see you

Mike

Not sure I follow you Mike as all the adult cats that come to us are spayed/neutered as a matter of course unless already done before reaching us.
Kittens can't be done as they ideally need to be at least six months old but it is always the rescue centres policy to home cats responsibly and to explain the benefits of neutering to people.
The thing is though, we end up with as many as we do because there are so many people who take on animals with no financial abilities for their welfare.
Then when the cat gets pregnant it ends up being handed in to us because the owner can't cope/afford the veterinary bills etc:o
The government don't hand out welfare money for pets!

The other thing that drives us all mad is those breeding cats ( not registered ) and selling the kittens on Facebook!
Half of these are in-bred and come with their own particular health issues:mad:

That's what we are up against each and every day I'm afraid!

Sorry I couldn't make the meet as I was working, next month I'm at the Kings Lynn meet :)

very well explained Jeff.

A few pictures from yesterday,
Got to take some outside in the garden as well which makes a nice change from tripping over water bowls and treading in cat litter trays:D
