high revving
 
not long ago i had a clutch fitted to which the engine had to come out the job was done and on completion after driving it home i found that the engine was revving at around 1200 revs how can i get it rev at the recommended rev rate
help needed as i believe i am using more fuel because of this

could be an air leak on the inlet or a breather has been disturbed

it could be the idle valve is faulty or they have not adjusted the throttle cable properly.give it a turn or 2 see it that does anything .

If it is a 1.8 switch ignition on to poss 2 and push throttle pedal fully down and up 5 times within 10seconds and start

may be your problem then take some slack out of it .
