handbrake backplate

I am trying to fit new handbrake backplates for the mot but I cannot slacken the existing bolts. The backplates are held on by four bolts, but two of them will not grip as the tool just turns in the hole. Any good ideas gents? m

Handbrake backplate, If I leave the back plates on the shoe retaining pins will just pull through the hole in the plate due to corrosion. This is just addition to my previous post.

back plate bolts

2 suggestions,1 select a slightly bigger alan key and hammer it into bolt head and at same time get a set of grips onto bolt head then turn both together. 2 use an erwins bolt extractor on bolt head that should shift it.

If you've got an oscillating multi-tool with a metal blade you might be able to cut a groove in the bolt rims (they're deep enough), then use a big screwdriver in the groove. Give them lots of Plusgas first, and a sharp whack with a metal drift. The factory bolts have got red thread lock compound on - https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-SYG000050

If they have red threadlock on them then they'll need heating to be removed.
(heat turns the threadlock to powder).

Thanks for all comments, The heat method would be the easiest to do so will try that. I think they do have the red threadlock on them. The car goes in for mot on Tuesday so I will get them to try these other suggestions if heat does not work. Cheers.
