Spanish Club Members Forum Dual language

Hi, 75´s or Mg´s living in Spain :welcome:

I just decide to create this thread to all of you living in Spain for some reasons:

First of all, we share the same love for our vehicles and after all these years I have to realize that there's no section where we can help each other breaking the language barrier. Questions and answers in both languages..!!!

I´m for sure that we have a lot of spare parts that sometimes are hard to find and they are just hanging around on our storage area. Let´s see what we need and who have it locally.

Special tools for share nearby. Some of us are weekend mechanics.

Get together for a beer and tapa´s, why not. :chat:

So, let´s see what we have or need from each other just to have our British cars running as new.

Kind regards

Joel Antonio

joel antonio 18th June 2019 12:17

Saludos cordiales Joel Antonio.

Hello Cantabrian:

I am selling one with the manual gearbox :driving: . More than anything because I'm going to buy another one that is automatic too :drool4: . All I have are second-hand, I didn't have the opportunity to buy a new one ... I was late for the party (2007). Of course they are going great, the little things that come out I fix them myself, I like the mechanics of the weekend.

Best regards Joel Antonio.

Hola!

We have travelled around Spain fairly often over the past 5 years (motorhome, not the Rover 75) and see the occasional 75 or MG.
I've noticed a few where the paint has been damaged by what must be the strong sunshine. Usually the darker colours. A problem we don't have as much in the UK!

Blackrose .... Having stayed at Camping El Jardin a few times (just north of Alicante, just south of El Campello) I should pop into the scrapyard you mention for a quick look!
Regards
John

Saludos
Juan

joel antonio 9th August 2019 08:46

Hi John:

Please to hear about you running around into our "backyard":D.

Yes, sunshine kills darker colors on our Rover´s, but I might say that there few reasons why for example, some owners have to left their car on the street because they don´t have a garage, also no paint care ej. regular wash & polish.

That´s on one side, others including my self have the benefit of a garage and like to have our babies in top-notch condition including the paint.

About scrap yards, there are several around Spain, but not all they have Rover 75´s. There´s one in Madrid the biggest in Spain, where you can find almost every bit that you´re looking for, but it´s very expensive, I rather buy it new from UK known suppliers. ;)

Cheers...!!!!

Blackrose 11th August 2019 21:40

Grout, I think it's gone to the crusher. I'll check in 3 weeks when I'm back.

John, if you are ever down this way in the motorhome again feel free to drop in and stay for a few days, we have space, and a pool :drool4:

I have read in the news lately that quite a few ex-patriots in Spain are going to lose their houses.
That's terrible news for folk that have been living in Spain for quite a good few years now and have nothing to go back to in GB.---:eek::eek:

T4 or TOAF equipment in Spain

I am in Mojacar and wondered if there is anyone near who has either of these as I need to have a check as I have the dreaded water leak from the sunroof drains and now the airbag light stays on and I need to know if it is the side impact sensors that are the fault as these are very expensive to replace and hard to obtain for my early version.

All advice welcomed

Hi James:
:smilie_re:
I have a Toaf which I use for my two Rover 75's. However, I have checked and there are nearly 400 miles between you and me as I live in Segovia.
:smilie_re:
For your draining problem, I have a Rover with a sunroof and I could help you to unclog them.
For the Airbag Light, in most cases the problem is corrected by disconnecting, cleaning, and reconnecting the plug under the front seats. You would have to test which side is generating the signal.
The side impacts. How do you come to the conclusion that you have problems with these? If any are to be located it would be at a junkyard.
Let me know if I can help you.
Kind regards.
Joel Antonio.

Hi Joel,
Glad to know you have a TOAF, just a wee bit too far to travel lol.
I have repaired all the sunroof drain problems, 2 pipes just touching and 2 completly loose, amazing, so the now repaired.
The airbag problem is still there after a garage in Alicante soldered the wires together on the passenger side. I just felt that by checking with a TOAF check this would eliminate the side impact sensors being faulty! Yes, they are hard to obtain and I was quoted £187.00 each by DMGRS in England before I came out here just in case I needed them.

Thank you for your reply and offer of help, much appreciated. Many thanks Jim

New Rover 75 owner

Hi everyone,

I’m a recent happy owner of a 2nd hand Rover 75 Classic 2.0 V6 petrol (Club version in UK) with 87.000km.
Actually it is in the garage to fix some bugs and to add some accessories if they are available in the sales market (I cross my fingers).

Please, has any the torque curves of the 2.0 V6 engine? Or could address to me where to find them?. Does anyone one knows if this engine is Rover made or Honda made?

Thank you

Gracias
